At 5,000 square feet of retail selling space, we are small-sized by Los Angeles’ grocery store standards. This was by design. We reject the traditional supermarket format of aisles and aisles of industrialized food products. This model inherently accounts for high levels of waste by purveying lesser-quality foods. We believe the super-sized grocery store exemplifies a lot of what went wrong in American food culture.
Our mini-revolution is to change the grocery experience. We believe food should be fresh, mostly perishable and that the grocery store experience itself should be enjoyable and encourage frequent shopping. We do not consider ourselves a ‘gourmet/specialty store’, but rather a full-range market with a carefully curated offering of great food. This includes non-GMO, artfully crafted ingredients , locally grown and organic produce, meats, poultry and seafood from ranchers who subscribe to ethical animal welfare standards, premium dairy from small batch producers, artisinal cheeses and charcuterie, all chosen with deliciousness and nutrition top of mind. We represent food artisans, producers, growers and ranchers obsessed with the quality, nutrition and environmental concern behind what they produce.
